FPEIM Calls on Federal Government to Abandon New Approach to Census

2010 FPEIM Annual Meeting

FPEIM Expects Smooth Transition as Municipal Affairs Joins Department of Finance

Report of the Commission on Land and Local Governance Released
The report of the Commission on Land and Local Governance was released on January 7, 2010.  The report can be found  here.


FCM releases report "Act Locally - The Municipal Role in Fighting Climate Change"
A new report has been released by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) that shows how the federal government can partner with municipalties on cost-effective, community-based projects to jump-start its national climate change strategy.  The report can be found here.


FCM Green Municipal Fund

The FCM Green Municipal Fund recently released comprehensive research reports on issues, trends, emerging technologies, and current and best practices in four sectors of municipal activity.  Energy, Planning, Transportation, and Water are the topics of these reports.


2009 Municipal Orientation Session
The Department of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour and FPEIM co-hosted a municipal orientation session on November 28, 2009, in Kinkora for the municipal officials who were elected on November 2, 2009.  We had several interesting presentations, which can be found here.


Model Code of Conduct
Under the Building Municipal Capacity project, FPEIM has developed a Model Code of Conduct for Municipalities.  This Code of Conduct can be modified to suite the needs of your municipality.  The Code of Conduct can be found here in Microsoft Word format and here in WordPerfect format.
